Shanty Sing-Along Reservation & Donation
Yis B’y! Join us for a rollicking afternoon of shantying and folk songs at our “Coasts of Newfoundland” shanty sing-along, Saturday April 6th from 3:30-5:30pm at The Merchant Tap House in Kingston, ON!
Presented by Tall Ship Expeditions Canada, and hosted by the crew of The St. Lawrence II, we are inviting you to take part in an afternoon of maritime merrymaking in celebration of our journeys throughout Newfoundland & Labrador this summer. We’ll be singing traditional shanties from the rock, as well as some well known classic shanties!
This event is an all-ages event and all are welcome. Reserved your spot in advance (donation suggested) in our store to make sure you don’t miss out!
More than a good time with friends, this event is also a fundraiser for youth access to the tall ship this summer. We will “pass the hat” around to accept donations if you’d like to further support enabling youth access to the Tall Ship this summer! Every dollar counts - and there is no minimum (or maximum) donation!
What to expect: Shanties are about coming together through song. You will be led through a series of shanties and folk songs by our host, who will introduce the song and the tune. Lyrics will be projected in large format for everyone to see.
Sea shanties are for everyone, and you don’t need to be a singer to enjoy belting out the chorus of a shanty!
